Elon Musk Ends Suspense Over Tesla’s Tryst with Artificial Intelligence

Co-founder, CEO and Product Architect of revolutionary electric car maker Tesla, predicts that time is near when machines powered by Artificial Intelligence will possess super-natural powers

Speaking at a Tesla party on the side-lines of the Annual Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems, in Long Beach, Los Angeles, EIon Musk admitted that his company is currently developing best-in-the-world AI hardware chips for its driverless cars. He emphasised that Tesla was determined to create custom AI products, both in the software and hardware domains.

Musk did not reveal much but did mention that he has joined hands with renowned chip engineer Jim Keller to advance his company’s plans. Jim was previously Lead Architect for a wide range of semiconductor products at AMD and Apple, before joining Tesla in 2016.
