Integrated Systems on the Rise

Globally, the market for integrated systems is growing with vendors reporting year-on-year revenue increase in 2014. Though a lot of enterprises are still buying standalone servers, integrated systems where computing, storage, networking, and apps converge are fast sharing the market’s center stage.

IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Integrated Infrastructure Platform tracker reports a vendor revenue of $9.4 billion for the global integrated systems market in 2014, experiencing almost 30% of year-on-year growth.

Oracle leads in the integrated platforms category, holding more than 40% of the market share. IBM and HP are in second and third place respectively.

In the integrated infrastructure category, Cisco holds the lion share of the market, dominating the space as it has existing partnerships with the second and third-placers, Netapp and EMC.

The stage is set for a competitive landscape for integrated systems in 2015.
