Intel Launched New Processors at Computex 2015

June 2015, Taipei—Intel introduced five new consumer-class quad-core Broadwell processors at Computex 2015. All the CPUs come with Iris Pro 6200 integrated graphics, 6MB L3 cache, and 128MB L4 cache. Of the five, the Core i7-5675C (3.1GHz) and the Core i7-5775C (3.3GHz) are LGA-socketed. The other three chips are BGA processors from the Xeon E3-1200 v4 series meant to be permanently soldered to motherboards of single-processor workstations.

For servers, Intel also launched the Xeon E3-1284L v4. Looking at performance and power-consumption, this new processor is between the older models E3-1265L v4 and E3-1285L v4. This new Xeon clocks in at 2.9GHz at only 47 Watt TDP. It has a 3.8GHz maximum Turbo Boost frequency and also comes integrated with Iris Pro 6200 GPU. This CPU is supported by the following Intel Server Boards:

  • S1200V3RPL
  • S1200V3RPM
  • S1200V3RPO
  • S1200V3RPS
